6 Tips to Slip on Your Lingerie with Confidence

wear lingerie with confidence

Babes. We need to chat. It’s not easy for everyone to wear lingerie with confidence. For some women, that beautiful, sleek lace doesn’t always feel so beautiful. We know how it goes. But there are some things you can do to boost your confidence when it comes to putting on that sexy lingerie, and actually feeling sexy. Here’s what we recommend:

  1. Shop for lingerie on the right sites.

You’ll notice that here at Mentionables, we never use models in our lingerie photos. This makes it easy for you to forget the models, and instead picture the lingerie on your own body.

  1. Make sure you’ve got the right size.

Don’t size down just so you can brag about fitting into a size small. Go with the appropriate size for your body. Especially with lingerie, you don’t want something that’s going to squeeze you too tight. You want your curves to be highlighted, not squished and contorted. Most of the time, a good rule of thumb to remember is that you want lingerie to be skin-tight, not bone-tight!

  1. Practice positive thoughts.

What you tell yourself affects how much confidence you’ll have. When you slide on that darling teddy, remind yourself how beautiful you are, and remember why you’re putting lingerie on in the first place. It could be because you want to remember just how delicate you are, or perhaps you’re planning something special for your partner. No matter the reason you’re wearing it, don’t be your worst enemy. Be positive with yourself. Look in the mirror, and be confident, even if you have to fake it till’ you make it.

  1. Ask your partner for their lingerie preferences.

Lingerie can be an important part of intimate moments with your partner. Ask them what kind of lingerie they prefer and that might help you choose the right items that work for both of you. Ultimately, your confidence needs to come from within, but a little flattery can help. “Hey honey…"

  1. Do what makes you comfortable.

Not all lingerie is made equal. Wear what makes you feel good and comfortable. If it doesn’t feel right or makes you fidget, then go with something else!

  1. Don’t be shy!

You don’t know what you’ll like or not like until you’ve tried it. So go ahead: be daring and be bold. You might just feel sexier than you ever have.

Go ahead, treat yourself to a little something lacy.
